PRESERVES
JAM, CHUTNEY, MARMALADE, MUSTARDS, PICKLES
Miss Ellie's Homemade has a wide and varied range of jams, chutneys, marmalades, pickles and sauces. Some are back every year 'by popular demand' , others are limited editions made with produce that has been gifted, foraged or found.
All jars are 227g and cost £3 - I like to keep things straightforward and simple. What you see is what you get - nothing artificial, no additives or preservatives, no GM products (to the best of my knowledge). My jams, marmalades and chutneys are vegan and gluten free - indeed the joy of preserving is that there are very few allergens to worry about - though mustard, does contain mustard and my apple and walnut chutney does contain nuts!
Below you will see a brief description of my range, for more detail please visit the appropriate page.
MarmaladeSpread thickly on toast, in a sandwich (true Paddington Bear Style) or smothered over a roast chicken or ham Miss Ellie's marmalades offer your taste buds a tempting treat. From Simply Seville, Luscious Lemon, Warming Whiskey, Devilishly Dark and Stunning Stem Ginger to the new combinations such as Marmapple and Grapelade your can stock your cupboard full of citrus delights. | GrapesThis year, I have had access to a secret Coventry vinery and so have been able to make Gorgeous Grape Jelly- the grapes are dark and delicious, packed full of juice and I had 3 deliveries of them! Picked in the morning and processed by lunchtime | QuincesI am lucky to have a quince tree on my allotment - it yields enough fruit for about 8 jars a year! |

Chilli JamBy far the best seller of the Miss Ellie's range the chilli jam has to be tasted to be believed. This savoury jam will spice up many a dish, compliment cheeses (especially soft cheese) and can be used to add flavour to chicken and fish dishes. We grow a few chilli's ourselves but have a supply from Whoberly - our chilli growing genius lady! | ChutneyThe rich and round flavours of Miss Ellie's Chutneys made with an abundance of locally sourced vegetables and hand ground spices make the perfect accompaniment for many a dish and an absolute must for the cheeseboard. Chutneys are produced seasonally and are reliant on the harvest so ranges sell out fast! | Fallen ApplesWorking with The Urban Fruit Collective we get many a fallen apple - nothing goes to waste and I can donate to charity too ! |
Open pan cookingI always use open pan cooking, taking time to prepare and cook. Nothing here is ever mass produced and my house smells delicious! |
